This initiative forms part of a broader objective to market the Western Cape’s technology cluster both locally and abroad. That said, we are not limiting our coverage on success stories to only the Western Cape and are proud to exhibit all of what South Africa has to offer.

IT Heroes Beginnings

The IT Heroes initiative was created and is being managed by the Cape Information Technology Initiative (CITI). Funding to launch the IT Heroes initiative has been provided by the Department of Economic Development And Tourism and the Provincial Government of the Western Cape.

Purpose Story

The purpose of IT Heroes is to increase the number of new entrants into the technology industry, support existing businesses and catalogue innovations within the Western Cape. Our long-term vision is to develop the Western Cape into the innovative technology hub of the world.
